Sue asked me where I get my inspiration from. When writing horror or anything anything else, I would say most inspiration comes from questions I have. The writing is simply a stage for those questions to be answered on. The characters are set into a backdrop of the question, where they will act and tell me what they would do in that situation. Knowing the answer would only bore me in the writing, hence the lack of outlines in my writing.
Someone said you should write the books you wish were written. When getting inspiration for a story, I’m often in the shower. I rush out to my wife and unload a full story, talking quicker than should be humanly possible. Sometimes I’ll pull out the video camera and record the basic idea, but, apart from that, there isn’t any plan when I go into writing.
Where do you get your inspiration from? Do you act on all your ideas, or do you find that you have too many?
I’ll keep trying to write more, but I can’t find more right now. Do you think this is a good start?
